saying I LOVE YOU

I want to be loved, but you don't seem to love me
I'm wandering aimlessly within this repetition
And the answer I found is only one; that even if I'm scared, even if I'm hurt
I'll say "I love you" to the person I love

Do you love me? Do you not love me?
As for things like that, it's fine either way
No matter how much I wish
There are many unchangeable things in this world, right?
That's right, and simply the reality which says that I love you
Is the truth because it can't be changed by anybody.

I want to overcome the thousands of nights and tell you
There's something that I must tell you
I want to be loved, but you don't seem to love me
I'm wandering aimlessly within this repetition
And the answer I found is only one; that even if I'm scared, even if I'm hurt
I'll say "I love you" to the person I love
Putting these feelings into words is such a scary thing
But I'll say "I love you" to the person I love

In this wide world, I can't express the joy of encountering you with words very well
That's why we smile,
And sing do-re-mi in the autumn filled with vivid colors
With winter at our backs, waiting for the sunlight shining through the leaves in spring
To become born anew, in a way that we're able to protect someone

When I turn back at the road I came from and the way ahead, I always had the eyes of a coward
I want to face you, but I can't be honest
As for the days I repeated not being able to straightforwardly love the other,
I hated being alone
The me of that day seemed to love in a uninjured way.

I'll overcome the thousands of nights and head out to meet you right now
There is something that I must tell you
I want to be loved, but you don't seem to love me
I'm wandering aimlessly within this repetition
And the answer I found is only one; that even if I'm scared, even if I'm hurt
I'll say "I love you" to the person I love
Even if these feelings aren't returned, saying "I love you" to the person you love
That is the most beautiful thing in the world.

"We know nothing of the trials, sorrows and temptations of those around us, of pillows wet with sobs, of the life-tragedy that may be hidden behind a smile, of the secret cares, struggles, and worries that shorten life and leave their mark in hair prematurely whitened, and a character changed and almost recreated in a few days. Let us not dare to add to the burden of another the pain of our judgment."

Merry Christmas to all!

hello! guys merry christmas!!!!! sori I didnt have time to manage a good post for a week, hehe cause my computer is broken again but I already fixed it so no prob... haha^_^

Photobucket
Since it's Christmas I will share sum trivias to you how other countries celebrates the christmas season..^^ here they go:

In Belgium:
On the sixth of December Sinterklaas or Saint-Nicholas is celebrated, which is an entirely different holiday from Christmas. Santa Claus in Belgium is called de Kerstman or le Père Noël and he does come around on Christmas day to bring children presents. There are different cultures in Belgium, the Northern part being Vlaanderen (speaking a Dutch dialect), the Southern part being Wallonie (speaking a French dialect) and the Eastern part speaking German. Small family presents are given at Christmas too, under the tree, or in stockings near the fire-place, to be found in the morning. Christmas breakfast is a special sweet bread called 'cougnou' or 'cougnolle' - the shape is supposed to be like baby Jesus. Some families will have another big meal on Christmas day.

In Brazil:
Father Christmas is called Papai Noel. Many Christmas customs are similar to USA or UK. For those who have enough money, a special Christmas meal will be chicken, turkey, ham, rice, salad, pork, fresh and dried fruits, often with beer. Poorer people will just have chicken and rice.

In Finland(where santa lives):
Finnish people believe that Father Christmas (Santa Claus) lives in the north part of Finland called Korvatunturi, north of the Arctic Circle. People from all over the world send letters to Santa Claus in Finland. (It is only fair to say that the people of Greenland say that really, Father Christmas lives in Greenland!) There is a even big tourist theme park called 'Christmas Land' in the north of Finland, near to where they say that Father Christmas lives.

In France:
In France, Christmas is always called 'Noël. Everyone has a Christmas tree, sometimes decorated in the old way with red ribbons and real white wax candles. Fir trees in the garden are often decorated too, with lights on all night.

In Germany:
Germans love to decorate their houses at Christmas. Many houses will have little wooden frames holding electric candles in their windows, and coloured pictures of paper or plastic which look beautiful from the outside at night. Often too, they will have an 'Adventskranz' - a wreath of leaves with four candles. (Advent - meaning 'coming' - is the 4 week period before Christmas). On each Sunday of Advent, another candle is lit. Most homes will also have little wooden 'cribs' - a small model of the stable where Jesus was born, with Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, and animals.

In Hungary:
Santa Clause (Winter-grandfather) (Tel-apo or Mikulas) comes on the 6th of December. Children should clean and put their shoes outside next to the door or window before they go to sleep. Next day candies and/or small toys appear in them in red bags. For children, who don't behave well, a golden birch placed next to the sweets, a symbol for spanking... (but don't worry, it is just for fun, and not for actual punishment.)
On 24th of December, children go to their relative or to the movies, because little Jesus brings the tree and the presents that evening to their house. It is customary to hang edible things on the tree, like golden wrapped assorted chocolates and meringues beside the glass balls, candles (real or electrical), and sparklers.
Families usually cook festive dinner for that night. An example would be fresh fish usually with rice or potatoes and home made pastries as dessert. After dinner, the tree would be viewed by the children for the first time. It was very exciting. Christmas songs are sung and then the gifts under the tree are shared.
Older children attend the midnight mass with their parents. (During communism, children had to hide at the back of the church. Teachers could have lost their jobs for attending the mass. Later (in mid 1970's) most of the Communist Party leaders of the town attended it too.) Next day the children attack the edible part of the tree. Festive food is enjoyed on the second and third day too.

In Latvia:
Latvians believe that Father Christmas brings presents on each of the 12 days of Christmas starting on Christmas Eve. Usually the presents are put under the family Christmas tree. (What a good idea to spread Christmas out longer!) It was in Latvia that the first Christmas tree was decorated. The special Latvian Christmas Day meal is cooked brown peas with bacon (pork) sauce, small pies, cabbage and sausage.

In New Zealand:
Christmas starts for us with gifts under the tree, to be opened Christmas morning. Then its onto a Christmas lunch either at home or at one's parents place. Turkey or chicken with all the trimmings is eaten, then come tea time, it is a Bar-B-Q for friends and family to get together, and have a few beers or wines with the meal!!

In Portugal:
People adhere to the tradition that Father Christmas brings presents to children on Christmas Eve. The presents are left under the Christmas tree or in shoes by the fireplace. A special Christmas meal of salted dry cod-fish with boiled potatoes is eaten at midnight on Christmas Eve.

In Romania:
People from Transylvania serve stuffed cabbage on Christmas Eve, and next day for lunch. Most likely the reason for that custom is that stuffed cabbage is the best on the second and third day after it was cooked. Moms can prepare the food a day earlier, leaving more time for decorating and organizing. Very practical.
On the 25th of December, the whole family attended church and ate stuffed cabbage for lunch.

In Russia:
In the days of the Soviet Union, Christmas was not celebrated very much. New Year was the important time - when 'Father Frost' brought presents to children. With the fall of Communism, Christmas can be openly celebrated - either on December 25th; or more often on January 7th. This unusual date is because the Russian Orthodox church uses the old 'Julian' calendar for religious celebration days. Special Christmas food includes cakes, pies and 'meat dumplings'.

In Sweden:
The most important day is Christmas Eve. A special Christmas meal is eaten on Christmas Eve - ham (pork), herring fish, and brown beans - and this is the time when families give presents to each other. Many people attend a church meeting early on Christmas Day.

In USA:
All year long children are told to behave, or they will get coal in their stocking. On Christmas Eve, they hang highly stylized stockings on the mantle of the fireplace, then go to bed early so that they will find presents in the morning. They are told that at midnight Santa will come, bringing a huge bag of toys. He will come down through the chimney, leave candy in the stockings and presents under the Christmas tree (anything from a Pine or Fir to a Spruce), then plug one nostril and shoot up through the chimney. Cookies are traditionally left for him, and a carrot is commonly left for Rudolph the Red-nosed reindeer, very much a part of Christmas tradition (Santa will land on the roof with his sleigh and nine reindeer). On Christmas morning, things such as cinnamon rolls or coffee cake are served for breakfast, and for dinner there is typically ham (and occasionally regal plum pudding).

In the Philippines naman:
Alam nyu na lahat siguro!
may simbang gabi, starts when it is already Dec. 16 and ends up in christmas eve. they believe that if you have completed all nine nights your wish will be granted. We also have many unique dishes that are served in every part of the land. and some traditional kakanin like "puto bumbong and bibingka" eating it after the simbang gabi is the ebst^^.(simbang gabi is for catholics only)(I'm not a catholic so I only eat and I called that " simbang kain" haha^^.
In the day of Dec. 25 many children roam around their village or province to go to their godmother and godfather to get their "pamasko".Well aq nung bata pa me konti lng ang napapamaskuhan q mnsan nga wla pa q regalo how sad T_T.

aun un na lahat ng nakayanan q huhu^^. sana you learned sumthing so bubye^^....

again merry christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!

Random thought!

hello! you know guys, sometimes in our life, we experiences some insecurities on other people, sometimes we are asking God many kinds of question like " Why did you gave me a life like this" " Why did you gave me a face like this" " a nose" " a very simple talent", we always ask why and why and why, but we never thought of what can we do with our talents... we always question God for all he has gave to us...
Photobucket
Last day when we are at the Values Education class, while my classmates is having a report, I did not really focused on what they are reporting cause, it is some kind of boring, but when my "daughter" in class starts to report, I some kind of having a little interest in what she is telling, and you know, the story the she was telling to us, is what struck me the most, This is the story:

"A Rajah went to his garden one morning, only to find everything withered and dying. He asked the Acacia tree that stood near the gate what the trouble was. The Acacia tree said it was tired of life and determined to die because it was not as beautiful as the fire tree. The fire tree was trouble because it was not as useful as the coconut tree. The coconut tree was determined to throw it's life away because it could not produce flowers that were fragrant like the sampaguita. The sampaguita was fretting because it had no fruit at all. And so it went throughout the garden. Yet coming to a gumamela the Rajah founds it's face as bright and happy as ever and said, " Well, I'm glad to find one brave flower in the midst of this discouragement. You don't seem to be the least bit disheartened." The gumamela responded, "No, Im not. I know I'm not tall or shady or fragrant, Yet I thought if you wanted an acacia or a coconut tree or even sampaguita, you would have planted one. Since I knew you wanted a gumamela, I determined to be the best gumamela that I can be."

What I learned from that story is to treasure our own talents and make wonderful things in the best we can! God has gave us those talents because he wanted us to use it on purpose.

btw...

I dedicated this post to my Values teacher Sir. Mano(Manyo) even though we are always making fun of him, and he is always torturing us with his quizzes and periodical tests, we still love him, and he will be the best values teacher here in my heart! God Bless You Sir!

and I'm also thankful to our school too it is because if you wont have this subject in your curriculum, maybe some of us JILians cannot learn the wonderful lessons in life that God wants us to learn, thank you JILCF! for me you are the best school that I had! more powers^_^

First Kiss Recipe

helo! As me and my cousin jasmine are doing her project in humanities subject, we decided to fix her friendster and as we are looking for some background for her, I suddenly look at one background and it makes me some kind of wanting it to be post here, so here it is now! haha it is entitled "first kiss recipe"

Take two cups of innocence,
free of envy,guilt and shame.
mix in a cup of healing,
to ease away hurt and pain

add a tablespoon of passion,
to make it one you wont forget.
counter it with shyness,
so nothing happens you'll regret.

add a pinch of awkwarness,
to keep you on your toes.
blend in three cups of magic,
to make the moment glow.

pour in a cup of blessings,
from the angels up above.
stir it in, mix it well,
and cook it in my love.

In the news!

hello!guys, it is now 7:23 am here and, as I was reading yahoo news I found a very interesting news, it's about secret santas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You know when I grew up and became I will be like them I love their work!!!!!!!

ST. LOUIS – At a suburban Goodwill store on Friday, Theresa Settles selected a large, black comforter to warm her family until she can raise the money to turn the gas heat back on. A petite woman approached, her face obscured by dark sunglasses and a wrapped winter scarf, and handed Settles two $100 bills stamped with the words "secret Santa." "The only condition," she said, "is that you do something nice for someone. Pass it on."

"I will," Settles said, the only words she could get out of her mouth.

The secret Santa was a protege of Kansas City's undercover gift giver, Larry Stewart, who died of cancer nearly two years ago. Stewart roamed city streets each December doling out $100 bills to anyone who looked like they might need a lift.

Before his death in January 2007, Stewart told a friend how much he would miss his 26 years of anonymous streetside giving, during which he gave away about $1.3 million. Stewart, from the city suburb of Lee's Summit, made millions in cable television and long-distance telephone service.

The friend promised Stewart he would be a secret Santa the next year. "He squeezed my hand and that was it," said the Kansas City Santa, who would say only that he was an area businessman and investor. "I honored a promise."

Two secret Santas, one from the Kansas City area and the other from the St. Louis area, descended on thrift stores, a health clinic, convenience store and small auto repair shop to dole out $20,000 in $100 bills, hugs and words of encouragement to unsuspecting souls in need.

In this economy, they weren't hard to find.

Cynthia Brown, 40, was laid off three weeks ago from her food service job. Santa found her at the St. Louis County health clinic and gave her $100, exactly what she had asked to borrow from her mother a night ago to buy food.

"I have three daughters, and I can't get unemployment yet. I was down in food," she said.

Leotta Burbank, 50, of West Frankfurt, Ill., was at a thrift store Friday to buy decorations for her sister-in-law's room at a St. Louis hospice, where she is dying of pancreatic cancer.

When Santa gave her money, Burbank collapsed into his arms and wouldn't stop hugging him.

"God provides," she said. "This is real emotional for me."

For the secret Santas, it's not about keeping Stewart's memory alive as much as the meaning behind his legacy.

"It's not about the man, it's not about the money, it's about the message," the Kansas City Santa said. "Anyone can be a secret Santa with a kind word, gesture, a helping hand."

He said the money is given without judgment, but on the condition that the receiver pass along a kindness to someone else. Stewart began his holiday tradition at a restaurant in December 1979, after he had just been fired. He gave a waitress $20 and told her to keep the change and was struck by her gratitude.

Stewart also gave money to community causes in Kansas City and his hometown of Bruce, Miss.

The secret Santas want to expand their operation to every state, but so far only nine givers operate in Charlotte, N.C., Phoenix, St. Louis and Kansas City. They plan to start giving in Detroit this holiday season.

A story of criticism

hello! you know what? this morning, our teacher in AP(araling panlipunan) deeply insulted us, because of a ten item quiz, here is the story: after we finished the quiz, our teacher collected the score so, she started to call in alphabetical order, so im the first one, cause my surname starts with the letter B, after calling my name and stating my score, im so proud and contented with my score cause im 10/10 believe that! haha, then the next one till the end, unfortunately our teacher count the numbers of failed students, and she was so disappointed that 8 students failed an only 10 items quiz, so she start about bragging the ranking of the section, she said to us that we are not supposed to be the section 2 but her advisory class who is 3rd in the ranking of section, I think she only envy us to be the 2nd section, and for me that was not nothing, but to my classmate and as a whole, we are very angry at her cause she is degrading us, and my classmates is not happy with that, so they made some funny jokes and including me i made too haha!

after that! after cooling up the rage a little... physics time started... and then ayun they burst it out, about the issue a while and, our physics teacher just encourage us that, issuse like that are supposed not to be minded, and you know, she gives us some inspirational message and a story, and that story is the one I will share today, she always told us a story thrice or twice a week, that's why she is my fave and most liked teacher even though she is medyo mataray^_^ *peace

well no more intro and title, here is the story, w8... the story I will telll is only what i remembered she told us ok! it is not very accurate, but you can still get the message:

A judge in a small town is always been criticized by the local lawyers, in his town, because of some reason, maybe because in their job, but the judge always nevermind them and continued to work a happy life, one day, the townmen organized a party and invited everyone in the town, including the judge, and while they were eating and talking to each other, one men consult the judge and asked him a question, that is why he doesnt fightback whenever the local lawyers criticizes him. he replied with a story, " you know long ago there was a little house and there lived a widow, the widow had a dog named Danillo, whenever the moon is shining in the sky, the dog always bark the whole night..."
the judge stop and continue to eat, then the man who asked him, still can't understand and wondering what is his point, he asked "then what happened?" the judge replied "you didn't still get it?" the man replied again "yah i didnt" the judge continued it story "Whenever the moon shines the dog kept on barking on it but, did you know that even the dog is always barking in the moon it still shining very beautifully." the man then get flattered, by his gesture he sure understood what the story is foretelling."

the end!

and that was the lesson that our teacher taught us that:

"Even others keep on criticizing like Danillo the dog,
we have to be like the moon,
still shining even though the dog is always barking."

I'm sure you get the meaning of the story, so to my classmates, just shake it! we still are the best dibah^^

and to ma'am De Guzman thank you for always teaching us some lessons in life^^, we will never forget you^^

How to install love in your computer?

hmmm... a while ago, as I was browsing my messages from other people of course and my classmates, a classmate sent me a very very good message that touches my heart, at first I thought it is a virus but when I read it until the end, I was giggling because of it's wonderful plot, Kudos to the person who originally made it! and thx for kate for the message! yan special mention! and sorry for the late posts because I am so very busy for the last few days that I didn't have time to post, gomenasai!

HOW TO INSTALL LOVE IN YOUR COMPUTER?

A call comes through a customer service line...

Customer service rep: Yes ma'am, how can I help you today?
Customer: Well, after much consideration, I've decided to install divine love. Can you guide me through the process?
CS rep. : Yes, I can help you. Are you ready to proceed?
Customer: Well, I'm not very technical, but I think I'm ready to install now. What do I do first?
CS rep. : The first step is to open your HEART. Have you located your HEART ma'am?
Customer: Yes I have, but there are several other programs running right now. Is it ok to install while they are running?
CS rep. : What programs are running ma'am?
Customer: Let's see, I have PAST-HURT.EXE, LOW-ESTEEM.EXE, GRUDGE.EXE, and RESENTMENT.COM, DIVINE LOVE.COM running right now.
CS rep. : No problem, LOVE will gradually erase PAST-HURT.EXE from your current operating system. It may remain in your permanent memory, but it will no longer disrupt another programs. LOVE will eventually overwrite LOW-ESTEEM.EXE, however you have to completely turn off GRUDGE.EXE and RESENTMENT.COM. Those programs prevent LOVE from being properly installed. Can you tun those of ma'am?
Customer: I don't know how to turn them off. Can you tell me how?
CS. rep. : My pleasure. Go to your start menu and invoke FORGIVENESS.EXE. Do this as many times as necessary until GRUDGE.EXE and RESENTMENT.COM have been completely erased.
Customer: Okay, done. LOVE has started installing itself automatically. Is that normal?
CS. rep. : Yes. You should receive a message that says it will reinstall for the life of your HEART. Do you see that divine message?
Customer: Yes I do. Is it completely installed?
CS. rep. : Yes, but remember that you have only the base program. You need to begin connecting to other's heart in order to get the upgrades.
Customer: Oops! I have an error message already. What should I do?
CS. rep. : What does the message say?
Customer: It says " ERROR 412- PROGRAM NOT RUN ON INTERNAL COMPONENTS." What does that mean?
CS. rep. : Don't worry ma'am. That's a common problem.. it means that the LOVE program is set up to run on external hearts but has not yet been run on your HEART. It is one of those complicated programming things, but in non-technical terms it means you have to "LOVE" your own machine before you can "LOVE" others.
Customer: So what should I do?
CS. rep. : Can you pull down the accesory called " SELF-ACCEPTANCE"?
Customer: Yes, I have it.
CS. rep. : Excellent. You're getting good at this.
Customer: Thank you!
CS. rep. : You're welcome. Click on the followeing files and then copy them to the "MYHEART" directory: FORGIVE-SELF.DOC, REALIZE-WORTH.TXT, and ACKNOWLEDGE-LIMITATIONS.DOC. The systems will overwrite any conflicting files and begin patching any programming. Also, you need to delete SELF-CRITIC.EXE from all directories, and to make sure it is completely gone and never comes back, you will nedd to empty your recycle bin.
Customer: Got it. Hey! my HEART is filling up with new files. How divine it is now. SMILE.MPG is playing on my monitor right now and it shows that PEACE.EXE, and CONTENTMENT.COM are copying themselves all over my HEART. Is this normal?
CS. rep. : Sometimes. For others it takes a while, but eventually everything gets downloaded at the proper time. So, LOVE is installed and running. You should be able to handle it from here. One more thing before I go.
Customer: Yes?
CS. rep. : LOVE is freeware. Be sure to give it and it's various modules to everybody you meet. They will inturn share it with other people and they will return some similarly cool modules back to you.
Customer: I will. Thanks for your help. By the way, what's your name?
CS. rep. : You can call me James also known as Ruben! Most people feel all they need is an annual check-up to stay geart-healthy, but the manufacturer suggests a schedule of daily maintenance for maximum efficiency.

Give a little love away!!!!!!

"pain has it's limit however fear doesnt have it's limit"
By: Prunius

I found this quote from a movie, it is some kind of creepy, you know, haha!!! It reflected on my life cause from all the time I'm always having fear, fear to be hurt by someone or something....

overacting disappointment

Photobucket
haha! last monday, I was expecting that all of my grades will go down because i didn't study so hard and I was so busy with other things like playing (haha) and internet surfing, so I was expecting that my grades will go down, surprisingly when our teachers announced the grades every subject, somewhat Im being disappointed even though my grades went up, and I dont know why...
I just feel that I will go down no matter what happen...

but yesterday friday all my worries had gone because I finally saw my card that didnt disappoint me anymore... my grades went up so im happy nah!

when I saw it, i only notice 2 subjects that goes down: TLE and Values, it's only a very little subject and not a major subject so I dont care hahaha!

and for the second time in history I let my father see it, coz my tita said so, so i manage to give it to him, and you know for the 1st time, he said to me! "It's ok anak yun lng nman binaba mo at least 87 lng pinakamababa"... Im very happy because for the first time he said some words of encouragement to me... and syempre all the worries, stress and the sad feeling I'm encountering that time had washed away by my dad!

even though my grades got down on those 2 subject, I will never give up, remembering that I still have 2 grading left, so I hope that last 2 gradings will mark as my highest score in history in my card,
I hope I can get a 99 hahahahah!!!!!!! (In my dreams)

The most important nutrient in milk is protein. And melamine has the same protein that contains "NITROGEN".
Photobucket
Adding Melamine to milk reduces milk content and it is cheaper than milk so it has lower capitalization.
It can give the businessman more profit!!!
below is melamine, doesn't it look like milk?
It doesn't have any smell , so cannot be detected!
Photobucket
Photobucket
3. When was it discovered???
Year 2007, US cats and dogs died suddenly, they found that pet food from China contains melamine.
Photobucket
Starting 2008, In China, an abnormal increase in infant cases of kidney stones.
Photobucket
August 2008 China's Sanlu Milk Powder tested with melamine.
Photobucket
Sept. 2008, New Zealand government ask China to check this problem Sept. 21, 2008, lots of food products in Taiwan tested with melamine.
4. What happens when melamine is digested?
Melamine remains inside the kidney. It forms into stones blocking the tubes. Pain will be eminent and person cannot urinate. Kidney will then swell.
Photobucket
although surgery can remove kidney stones, but it will cause irreversible kidney damage.
It can lead to loss of kidney function and will require kidney dialysis or lead to death because of uremia.
What is dialysis? in fact it should be called "blood washing"
It is filtering all the body's blood into the machine and then go back to the body.
Photobucket
The whole process takes 4 hours and it is necessary to dialysis once for every 3 days for the rest of your life! here is a dialysis center:
Photobucket
Large dialysis center:
Photobucket
A small hole is required in the arm to insert the sub-dialysis catheter.
Photobucket
Why is it more serious in babies? Because the kidney is very small and they drink a lot of milk powder.
Here is a baby undergoing dialysis:
Photobucket
China has currently 13,000 infants hosptalized
Photobucket
It does not matter how much a human being took melamine. The important point is it cannot be eaten.

Now you know!, it is very easy to avoid melamine just dont drink/eat what BFAD(Bureau of Food and Drugs) says that has melamine and at the same time for the mommies! ugaliing magpabreastfeed!

The Jack o Lantern

Photobucket

I knew that many of you know what Jack O Lantern is cause it is the main symbol of Halloween but did you know where Jack O Lantern came from>>?? siguro hindi noh so I will post here some myth why there is Jack O Lantern.

There are many stories why there is a Jack O Lantern and I will give you some...

An old Irish folk tale tells of Jack, a lazy yet shrewd farmer who uses a cross to trap the Devil. One story says that Jack tricked the Devil into climbing an apple tree, and once he was up there Jack quickly placed crosses around the trunk or carved a cross into the bark, so that the Devil couldn't get down. Another myth says that Jack put a key in the Devil's pocket while he was suspended upside-down.

Another version of the myth says that Jack was getting chased by some villagers from whom he had stolen, when he met the Devil, who claimed it was time for him to die. However, the thief stalled his death by tempting the Devil with a chance to bedevil the church-going villagers chasing him. Jack told the Devil to turn into a coin with which he would pay for the stolen goods (the Devil could take on any shape he wanted); later, when the coin/Devil disappeared, the Christian villagers would fight over who had stolen it. The Devil agreed to this plan. He turned himself into a silver coin and jumped into Jack's wallet, only to find himself next to a cross Jack had also picked up in the village. Jack had closed the wallet tight, and the cross stripped the Devil of his powers; and so he was trapped. In both myths, Jack only lets the Devil go when he agrees never to take his soul. After a while the thief died, as all living things do. Of course, his life had been too sinful for Jack to go to heaven; however, the Devil had promised not to take his soul, and so he was barred from hell as well. Jack now had nowhere to go. He asked how he would see where to go, as he had no light, and the Devil mockingly tossed him an ember that would never burn out from the flames of hell. Jack carved out one of his turnips (which was his favourite food), put the ember inside it, and began endlessly wandering the Earth for a resting place. He became known as "Jack of the Lantern", or Jack-o'-Lantern.

ayan lam nyu na ung story nyu so...

At first were just planning to visit him, but I suggested that I want to have some sleep over, so my sis said that "oo maganda yun exciting" so we started to list down what are the things we have to bring,
here are they:
many as in maraming candles, 3 boxes of matches(tama ba ung pagkaplural form?),barbeque, many snacks, tent, comforter, sleeping mat, flashlight, playing cards,UNO,some rice, juice, water jug, lantern,Off(mdaming lamok dun)...

ayan yan na yata lahat.... I can't wait till friday comes huhu... I'm feeling that this is the best Halloween and the most exciting Halloween that we will have^_^

hmmm.... dagdag kaalaman din pala harhar...

DID YOU KNOW THAT?
Halloween has its origins in the ancient Celtic festival known as Samhain (Irish pronunciation: [ˈsˠaunʲ]; from the Old Irish samain). The festival of Samhain is a celebration of the end of the harvest season in Gaelic culture, and is sometimes regarded as the "Celtic New Year". Traditionally, the festival was a time used by the ancient pagans to take stock of supplies and slaughter livestock for winter stores. The ancient Gaels believed that on October 31, now known as Halloween, the boundary between the alive and the deceased dissolved, and the dead become dangerous for the living by causing problems such as sickness or damaged crops. The festivals would frequently involve bonfires, into which bones of slaughtered livestock were thrown. Costumes and masks were also worn at the festivals in an attempt to mimic the evil spirits or placate them.

DID YOU KNOW THAT #2?
The term Halloween is shortened from All Hallows' Even (both "even" and "eve" are abbreviations of "evening", but "Halloween" gets its "n" from "even") as it is the eve of "All Hallows' Day", which is now also known as All Saints' Day. It was a day of religious festivities in various northern European Pagan traditions, until Popes Gregory III and Gregory IV moved the old Christian feast of All Saints' Day from May 13 (which had itself been the date of a pagan holiday, the Feast of the Lemures) to November 1. In the ninth century, the Church measured the day as starting at sunset, in accordance with the Florentine calendar. Although All Saints' Day is now considered to occur one day after Halloween, the two holidays were, at that time, celebrated on the same day. Liturgically, the Church traditionally celebrated that day as the Vigil of All Saints, and, until 1970, a day of fasting as well. Like other vigils, it was celebrated on the previous day if it fell on a Sunday, although secular celebrations of the holiday remained on the 31st. The Vigil was suppressed in 1955, but was later restored in the post-Vatican II calendar.

Harry potter shock

Subjects and Teachers:
harhar syempre makakalimutan q ba toh...

my favorite teacher at Hogwarts is Professor Minerva McGonagall and Professor Filius Flitwick...

and my favorite subjects are : Transfiguration, Charms, Herbology and care of magical creatures, somehow history of magic harhar, mahilig kasi q magbasa so history^_^

Throughout the series, numerous lessons are described, instructing the students in various branches of magic. There are twelve named teachers (each referred to as Professor), each specialising in a single subject. Transfiguration, Defence Against the Dark Arts, Charms, Potions, Astronomy, History of Magic, and Herbology are compulsory subjects. At the end of their second year, students are required to add at least two optional subjects to their syllabus for the start of the third year. Optional subjects include Arithmancy, Ancient Runes, Divination, Care of Magical Creatures, and Muggle Studies.

TRANSFIGURATION
Transfiguration is essentially the art of changing the properties of an object.Transfiguration is a theory-based subject, including topics such as "Switching Spells" (altering only a part of some object, such as giving a human rabbit's ears); Vanishing Spells (causing an object to completely disappear);and Conjuring Spells (creating objects out of thin air).It is possible to change inanimate objects into animate ones and vice versa — McGonagall transfigures her desk into a pig in Philosopher's Stone.Throughout Harry's time at Hogwarts, Transfiguration is taught by McGonagall. Dumbledore is known to have taught the subject before he became headmaster, including during Tom Riddle's time at Hogwarts.

DEFENCE AGAINST THE DARK ARTS
this class teaches defensive techniques to block spells, charms, curses, hexes and jinxes cast by other wizards, counteract the Dark Arts, and to protect from Dark creatures. The subject has an extraordinarily high turnover of staff members — throughout the series no Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher has remained at Hogwarts for more than one school year. It is suggested by Hagrid in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets that "They're startin' ter [sic] think the job's jinxed. No one's lasted long for a while now." In Half-Blood Prince, Dumbledore suggests that Voldemort cursed the position because his application for it was rejected. The existence of the jinx was eventually confirmed by Rowling. The position had also been coveted by Snape, but he was denied the position as well. Rowling explained that Dumbledore believed that teaching D.A.D.A would bring out Snape's worst side.Snape was finally appointed D.A.D.A. professor in Half-Blood Prince. Rowling announced in an interview that once Voldemort had died, the jinx he placed on the office was lifted and a permanent professor had been teaching the subject between the end of Deathly Hallows and the epilogue, set nineteen years afterwards. Furthermore, she imagines that Harry Potter occasionally comes to the class to give lectures on the subject.
List of Defence against the Dark Arts Teachers:
Quirinus Quirrel,Gilderoy Lockhart,Remus Lupin, Alastor Moody,Dolores Umbridge,Severus Snape,Amycus Carrow,Galatea Merrythought.

CHARMS
If Transfiguration involves changing the properties of an object, Rowling has described Charms as a type of magic spell concerned with giving an object new and unexpected properties.Charms classes are described as notoriously noisy and chaotic, as the lessons are largely practical. Many of the exposition sequences in the books are set in Charms classes, which are on the second floor of Hogwarts. Charms is taught throughout Harry's time at Hogwarts by Professor Flitwick.
POTIONS
Potions is described as the art of creating mixtures with magical effects. It requires the correct mixing and stirring of ingredients at the right times and temperatures. As to the question of whether a Muggle could brew a potion, given the correct magical ingredients, J.K. Rowling has said, "Potions seems, on the face of it, to be the most Muggle-friendly subject. But there does come a point in which you need do more than stir."Snape serves as Potions master from Philosopher's Stone to the end of Order of the Phoenix. Snape's lessons are depicted as unhappy, oppressing times set in a gloomy dungeon in the basement of the castle. In Half-Blood Prince, Slughorn replaces Snape as Potions instructor.

ASTRONOMY
Astornomy is the only field of study at Hogwarts which has a direct equivalent in the Muggle world. Astronomy classes take place in the Astronomy Tower, the tallest tower in Hogwarts. Lessons involve observations of the night skies with telescopes. No Astronomy lesson, or even a fragment of one, is ever depicted in the movies. Known student homework activities include learning the names of stars, constellations and planets, as well as their location and movements, and describing the environments of planets and moons. Throughout the Harry Potter series, Professor Aurora Sinistra teaches Astronomy.

HISTORY OF MAGIC
The study of magical history. Lessons are depicted as some of the most boring at Hogwarts. The History of Magic teacher, Cuthbert Binns, is the only ghost teacher, extremely set in his ways. Binns' lessons consist of him reciting and dictating notes to his students.

HERBOLOGY
The study of magical plants and how to take care of, utilize and/or combat them. There are at least three greenhouses described in the books, holding a variety of magical plants of varying degrees of lethality. Throughout the series, Herbology is taught by Professor Sprout. Herbology is also the only subject in which Neville excels; it is explained in the epilogue to Deathly Hallows that he later becomes the Herbology teacher.

ARITHMANCY
Arithmancy is a branch of magic concerned with the magical properties of numbers. As this class is taken neither by Harry, nor by Ron, almost nothing is known about it. It is, however, a favourite subject of Hermione. Arithmancy is reportedly very difficult, as it requires memorizing or working with large number charts. Throughout the series, Arithmancy is taught by Septima Vector.

ANCIENT RUNES
A mostly theoretical subject that studies the ancient runic scripts. It is studied by Hermione but not by Harry or Ron, so little else is known about this subject. The name of the Ancient Runes professor is never given in the books or films, although Rowling has named her as Bathsheba Babbling.

DIVINATION
Divination is the art of predicting the future. Various methods are described, including tea leaves, fire omens, crystal balls, palmistry, cartomancy (including the reading of playing cards and the Tarot), astrology, and dream interpretations. Divination is described as "one of the most imprecise branches of magic".Supporters of the subject claim that it is an inexact science that requires innate gifts. Those opposed claim that the subject is irrelevant and fraudulent. Sybill Trelawney is introduced as Divination teacher in Prisoner of Azkaban and remains in the post for Goblet of Fire and the beginning of Order of the Phoenix. When she is sacked by Umbridge she is replaced by Firenze, a centaur who is banished from the Forbidden Forest after he agrees to help Dumbledore. As Dumbledore explains that he could not remove either teacher at the end of Order of the Phoenix, both continue teaching in Half-Blood Prince.

CARE OF MAGICAL CREATURES
This subject instructs students about and how to care for magical beasts. Classes are held outside the castle. At the start of Prisoner of Azkaban, it is announced that an aging Professor Kettleburn has retired to "enjoy more time with his remaining limbs",and Hagrid is appointed to replace him. During Hagrid's two absences later in the series, in Goblet of Fire and the beginning of Order of the Phoenix, lessons are covered by Wilhelmina Grubbly-Plank. Although very experienced and knowledgeable of magical creatures, Hagrid's lessons are usually depicted as chaotic if not outright dangerous,as Hagrid is consistently unable to judge the safety of the animals around which his lessons are based.

MUGGLE STUDIES
This course involves the study of Muggles "from a wizarding point of view". There is apparently a need for witches and wizards to learn about Muggle ways and means, if only to ensure they are able to avoid them or blend in. As the class is only mentioned as being taken by Hermione, and for just one year, little is known about its curriculum. Through the first six books, the class is taught by Professor Charity Burbage. Rowling has said that Burbage replaced Quirrell, who taught the subject before moving to teach Defence Against the Dark Arts in Harry's first year. In the opening chapter of the final book, Voldemort murders Professor Burbage because she portrays Muggles in a positive light and is opposed to limiting wizardry to only people of pure-blood origins. For the remainder of the academic year covered by Deathly Hallows, the Death Eater Alecto Carrow teaches Muggle Studies. However, her "lessons" (which are made compulsory) mainly describe Muggles and Muggle-borns as subhuman and worthy of persecution.

FLYING
The use of enchanted broomsticks is taught in Hogwarts' only physical-education class. Only one flying lesson is depicted in the series (in Philosopher's Stone). That class is taught by Rolanda Hooch. Madam Hooch also acts as referee for Quidditch matches.

APPARITION
Apparition, the art of magically disappearing from one place and reappearing in another, requires a license and may only be legally performed by people over seventeen years of age. The described reason for the restriction is that Apparition is dangerous if done improperly: body parts can be left behind in an unfortunate side-effect known as "splinching". Although, as Hermione points out innumerable times throughout the series, magical enchantments on Hogwarts castle and grounds prohibit Apparition and Disapparition inside the castle, it is explained in Half-Blood Prince that these protections are temporarily relaxed within the Great Hall for short periods to permit students to practice Apparition. Wilkie Twycross, a "Ministry of Magic Apparition Instructor" offers lessons in Apparition in Half-Blood Prince.

So what are your favorite subjects and who are your favorite teachers?

Lessons in life!

Photobucket
There was a man who had four sons. He wanted his sons not to judge things too quickly. So he sent each one of them on a quest, in turn, to go and look at a pear tree that was a great distance away. The first son went in the winter, the second in the spring, the third in summer, and the youngest in the fall. When they had all gone and come back, the man called them together to describe what they had seen, the first son said the pear tree was ugly, bent and twisted. The second son said, "No it was covered with green buds and full of promise." The third son said it smelled so sweet and look so beautiful, it was the most graceful thing he had ever seen. The last son disagreed with all of them; he said it was ripe and drooping with fruits, full of life and fulfillment.

The man then explained to his sons that they were all right, because each of them had seen but only one season in the tree's life. He told them that you cannot judge a tree or a person, by only one season, and that the essence of who they are and the pleasure, joy and love that came from that life can only be measured at the end, when all the seasons are up.

" If you give up when it's winter,
you will miss the promise of your spring,
the beauty of your summer,
and the fulfillment of your fall."

It's a very short story but it has full of meaning, I found it when I was glancing in the book of the sophomores in one of my saturday classes, and i thought that it will be a good post in my blog so I copy it, I hope you learn something from that story^_^.

Happy Eid!!!!!!!!

yehey!!!!!! walang pasok cause it's hariraya eid ul fitr,

what's that ??

Eid ul-Fitr or Id-Ul-Fitr (Arabic: عيد الفطر ‘Īdu l-Fiṭr), often abbreviated to Eid, is a Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. Eid is an Arabic word meaning "festivity", while Fiṭr means "to break the fast" (and can also mean "nature", from the word "fitrah"); and so the holiday symbolizes the breaking of the fasting period.

Eid ul-Fitr is a three day celebration and is sometimes called the "Smaller Eid" (Arabic: العيد الصغير al-‘īdu ṣ-ṣaghīr) compared with the Eid ul-Adha that lasts four days and is called the "Greater Eid" (Arabic: العيد الكبير al-‘īdu l-kabīr).

now you know^_^..

sarap sana ng 1 day vacation kung ndi lang umuulan... well share q na lng kung paano sinecelebrate ng maraming muslim ang eid ul fitr sa ibat ibang bansa^^

Sa United Kingdom

There is a Khutbah (speech) in which the Imam gives advice to the Muslim community and usually Muslims are encouraged to end any past animosities they may have. He then goes on to the khutbah and then the prayer itself. When the local imam declares Eid ul-Fitr everyone greets and hugs each other.

As Eid ul-Fitr is not a recognised public holiday in the United Kingdom, Muslims are obliged to attend the morning prayer. In a large ethnically Muslim area, normally schools and local businesses give exemptions to the Muslim community to take three days off. In the rest of the UK it is not recognised as it is not on a fixed date as it is decided by the sighting of the moon on the night before.

Sa North America

North American Muslims typically celebrate the day in a quiet way. Because the day depends on the sighting of the moon, often families are not aware that the next day will be Eid until the night before. Most check with members of the community to see if the moon has been sighted by anyone. Different methods for determining the end of Ramadan and the beginning of Shawwal are used in each particular community. Because the day is determined by the natural phenomenon of sighting the crescent moon, North Americans on the eastern coast of the continent may celebrate Eid on a different day than those on the western coast.

The end of Ramadan is announced via e-mail, postings on websites, or chain phone calls to all members of a Muslim community. Working persons usually attempt to make arrangements for a lighter work day on the days that may possibly be the Eid day, but many North American Muslims are often noted to not be able to take the entire day off.

North American Muslims usually wake early, have a small breakfast and attend mosques for the Eid prayers.

Since many North American Muslims are immigrants, traditions described below may be celebrated by immigrants of these countries in their respective homes in North America.

SaRussia

Among the Muslim Turkic population of Russia this day is referred as Uraza Bayram, and widely celebrated in Republics of Russia.

Sa Turkey

In the Republic of Turkey, where Ramadan celebrations are infused with more national traditions, and where country-wide celebrations, religious and secular alike, are altogether referred to as Bayram, it is customary for people to greet one another with "Bayramınız Kutlu Olsun" ("May Your Bayram Be Celebrated"), "Mutlu Bayramlar" ("Happy Bayram"), or the more quaint "Bayramınız Mübarek Olsun" (May Your Bayram Be Holy", i.e. "Holy Bayram Upon You"), while enjoying a number of local customs.

It is a time for people to attend services, put on their best clothes (referred to as "Bayramlık", often purchased just for the occasion) and to visit all their loved ones (such as friends, relatives and neighbors) and pay their respects to the deceased with organized visits to cemeteries, where large, temporary bazaars of flowers, water (for watering the plants adorning a grave), and prayer books are set up for the three-day occasion.

It is regarded as especially important to honor elderly citizens by kissing their right hand and placing it on one's forehead while wishing them Bayram greetings. It is also customary for young children to go around their neighborhood, door to door, and wish everyone a happy Bayram, for which they are awarded candy, chocolates, traditional sweets such as Baklava and Turkish Delight, or a small amount of money at every door, in an almost Halloween-like fashion.

Municipalities all around the country organize fundraising events for the poor, in addition to public shows such as concerts or more traditional forms of entertainment such as the Karagöz and Hacivat shadow-theatre and even performances by the Mehter - the Janissary Band that was founded during the days of the Ottoman Empire.

Helping the less fortunate, ending past animosities and making up, organizing breakfasts and dinners for loved ones and putting together neighborhood celebrations are all part of the joyous occasion, where homes and streets are decorated and lit up for the celebrations, and television and radio channels continuously broadcast a variety of special Bayram programs, which include movie specials, musical programming and celebratory addresses from celebrities and politicians alike.

Sa Iran

In the predominantly Shia culture of Iran, Eid is a highly personal event, and celebrations are often more muted. Called Eyde Fetr by most Iranians, charity is important on that day. Public Eid prayers are held in every Mosque and in public places. Visiting the elderly and gathering with families and friends is also very common. Typically, each Muslim family gives food to those in need. Payment of fitra or fetriye is obligatory for each Muslim.

Often meat or Kurbani (literally translated as sacrifice, for it is usually a young lamb or calf that is sacrificed for the occasion), which is an expensive food item in Iran, will be given by those in wealthier families to those who have less. The offering of meat is generally a part of the Eid-ul-Azha celebrations and sacrifices (Kurbani) are generally not given during the Eid-ul-fitr celebrations.

Sa South Asia

In Bangladesh, India and Pakistan, the night before Eid is called Chand Raat, or night of the moon. People often visit bazaars and shopping malls, with their families and children, for last minute Eid shopping. Women, especially young girls, often paint each others' hands with traditional "henna" and wear colourful bangles.

During Eid, the traditional greeting is Eid Mubarak, and frequently also includes a formal embrace. Gifts are frequently given -- new clothes are traditional -- and it is also common for children to be given small sums of money (Eidi) by their elders.

After the Eid prayers, it is not uncommon for families to visit graveyards and pray for the salvation of departed family members.

Special celebratory dishes in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Fiji include sivayyan, a dish of fine, toasted sweet vermicelli noodles with milk & dried fruit.[5] In Bangladesh, the dish is called shemai.

Some people also avail themselves of this opportunity to distribute Zakat, the Islamic obligatory alms tax on one's wealth, to the needy.

Sa Southeast Asia

In Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei, Eid is also commonly known as Hari Raya Aidilfitri Hari , Raya Idul Fitri or Hari Raya Puasa. Hari Raya literally means 'Day of Celebration' i.e. 'The Day'. Muslims in Indonesia (a country with the biggest Muslim population in the world.), Malaysia and Singapore celebrate Eid like other Muslims throughout the world. It is the biggest holiday in Indonesia and Malaysia and is the most awaited one. Shopping malls and bazaars are filled with people days ahead of Hari Raya, causing a distinctive festive atmosphere throughout the country. Many banks, government and private offices are closed for this holiday, which usually lasts a week.

The night before Eid is with the takbir which is held in the mosques or musallas. In many parts of Indonesia as well as Malaysia, especially in rural areas, pelita or panjut (oil lamps) are lit up in house compounds. Eid also witnesses a huge migratory pattern of Muslims, from big metropolitan cities to rural areas. This is known as balik kampung or pulang kampung in Indonesian — literally going back to home town to celebrate Eid with one's parents. Special dishes like ketupat, dodol, lemang (a type of glutinous rice cake cooked in bamboo) and other Indo-Malay delicacies are served during this day.

It is common to greet people with "Selamat Hari Raya Idul Fitri" or "Salam Aidilfitri" which means "Happy Eid". Muslims also greet one another with "maaf lahir dan batin" in Indonesian and "maaf zahir dan batin" in Malaysian, which means "Forgive my physical and emotional (wrongdoings)", because Eid ul-Fitr is not only for celebrations but also the time for Muslims to cleanse their sins and strengthen their ties with relatives and friends.

It is customary for Indonesians and Malays to wear traditional their cultural outfit on the Eid. The outfit for men is called baju melayu or baju koko in Indonesia which is worn together with kain samping (made out of songket) and songkok (a dark coloured headgear); in Indonesia the men will usually wear pants with similar color to the shirt or (normal black pants) and a (black head cover called) [Peci]. The women in Indonesia and Malaysia wear what is known as baju kurung and baju kebaya. It is also common to see non-Malay Muslims wear costumes of their culture.

Once the prayer is completed, it is also common for Muslims in Indonesia and Malaysia to visit the graves of loved ones. During this visit, they clean the grave, recite Ya-Seen, a chapter (surah) from the Qur'an and also perform the tahlil ceremony. All these are done to ask for God to forgive the dead and also those who are living.

The rest of the day is spent visiting relatives or serving visitors. Eid ul-Fitr is a very joyous day for children for on this day adults are especially generous. Children will be given token sums of money, also known as "duit raya," from their parents or elders.[6][7]

In Indonesia there is a special ritual called halal bi-halal. During this, Indonesians visit their elders, in the family, the neighborhood, or their work, and show respect to them. They will also seek reconciliation (if needed), and preserve or restore harmonious relations.

syempre sa Pilipinas....

Philippines, with a majority Christian population, has recognized Eid ul-Fitr as a regular holiday by virtue of Republic Act No. 9177 and signed on November 13, 2002. The law was enacted in deference to the Filipino Muslim community and to promote peace among major religions in the Philippines. The first public holiday was set on December 6, 2002. Many non-Muslim Filipinos are still unfamiliar to the new holiday, and many calendars in the Philippines don't have this holiday listed.

Sa China naman

In China, out of 56 officially recognized ethnic groups, Eid ul-Fitr is celebrated by 10 ethnic groups that practice Islam which amount to 18 million of the total population according to official statistics. It is also a public holiday in China in certain regions, including two province prefecture level regions, Ningxia and Xinjiang. All residents in these areas are entitled of either a one-day or three-day holiday. Whereas outside the Muslim regions, only Muslims have a one-day holiday. In Xinjiang particularly, Eid ul-Fitr is even celebrated by Han Chinese population during which holiday supply such as mutton and beef is distributed to households as part of welfare scheme by government agencies, public and private institutions or businesses.

In the Yunnan province, Muslims are spread throughout the region. On Eid ul-Fitr, however, they travel to Sayyid 'Ajjal's grave, after their communal prayers. First there are readings from the Qur'an, then the tomb is cleaned (eminiscent of the historic annual Chinese Qingming festival in which people go their ancestors' graves, sweep and clean the area and then make food offerings). Finally the accomplishments of the Sayyid 'Ajall are told. In conclusion, a special service is held to honor the hundreds of thousands of Muslims killed during the Qing dynasty, and the hundreds killed during the Cultural Revolution.
